Front-Wheel and All-Wheel Drive MPG Returns
All 2019 Mazda CX-3 models are powered by a 2.0L SKYACTIV®-G four-cylinder engine that sends 148 hp and 146 lb-ft of torque via the SKYACTIV® Drive 6-speed automatic transmission with manual-shift and Sport mode. Front-wheel drive is standard. With this setup, Rockville drivers will enjoy an EPA-estimated 29 mpg city and 34 mpg highway*. When i-ACTIV AWD® is added, the EPA estimates returns of 27 mpg city and 32 mpg highway*. These returns are the same across all CX-3 trim levels. These returns are the same across all CX-3 trim levels, and help boost towing capacity.
An important aspect that complements the 2019 Mazda CX-3 mpg returns is fuel capacity. That’s because the greater the fuel capacity, the longer you can go between gas station stops. With front-wheel drive, the CX-3 can hold up to 12.7 gallons of gas. Meanwhile, the CX-3 can hold up to 11.9 gallons of gas with all-wheel drive.
The 2019 Mazda CX-3 mpg ratings are made possible thanks to Mazda’s exclusive SKYACTIV® TECHNOLOGY. The SKYACTIV®-G engine on the CX-3, for instance, improves efficiency because of high compression combustion. In turn, this leads to a 15% increase in fuel efficiency. Other components include:
- SKYACTIV®-BODY, which results in high rigidity and lightness
- SKYACTIV®-CHASSIS, balances ride comfort with agility and boosts stability
- SKYACTIV®-DRIVE, which improves fuel economy by 4% to 7% compared to a traditional automatic transmission
