The 4th of July is coming up fast, meaning it’s time for you to start working out your Independence Day plans. With July 4th falling on a Monday, many Independence Day events will be taking place the weekend before or even after the Fourth. To help you find out which events are taking place on which dates, we’ve compiled this list of 2016 4th of July fireworks and events in Manchester CT and beyond.
James “Dutch” Fogarty Independence Day Celebration in Manchester CT
The big Independence Day celebration here in Manchester CT will take place on Saturday, July 2 at the Manchester Community College. The whole event begins at 5 p.m. and will include food, kids activities and music. The fireworks display will start at 9:30 p.m. and a rain date is scheduled for July 3.
The Great American Boom in New Britain CT
One of the few nearby Independence Day events actually taking place on July 4th is the one happening in New Britain CT at Stanley Quarter Park. The fun kicks off at 5 p.m. with music beginning at 6 p.m. The fireworks display will start at 9:15 p.m. with a rain date scheduled for July 5.
Independence Day Celebration in Stafford Springs CT
If you take a drive up to Stafford Springs, a unique way to celebrate the holiday is at the Stafford Motor Speedway, where a fireworks display will take place July 1. In addition to the fireworks, however, you’ll be able to enjoy racing events throughout the evening. The gates open at 5:15 p.m.
Unfortunately, many of the 2016 4th of July fireworks and events near Manchester CT don’t actually happen on July 4th, but there are still plenty of great options for seeing some Independence Day fireworks celebrations throughout the area.
